After an exceptionally bad Sleep Fail the night before last (I awoke at 3:30 am and never made it made to la-la land), and as a result, an exceptionally grumpy and mean Grandma-fail (which resulted in a grouchy post that I immediately hid from the world, unless you were one of those lucky ones who just happened by before the said hid occurred -- yes, I'm looking at YOU, D!!! :-D ), I am happy to report an exceptionally good Sleep Win last night.  I was in bed at 9 pm, read and watched Deadliest Catch until 10 pm, and was in la-la land (with the help of half a Xanax, thank you very much) by, oh, about 10:01 pm.  Didn't hear the hubby come to bed, didn't rouse for the requisite nightly bathroom trip, and woke at 5:30 am, which was 7 1/2 hours of glorious uninterrupted sleep.  That's a win in my book.  Whew.

In general musings:  I am trying to teach myself to use different mouse fingers.  My little finger has always looked deformed in some way, like I broke it once, although I have no memory of ever doing so, and now it is giving me a lot of pain, especially after I've been giving in to my Spider Solitaire obsession and dragging the mouse for hours at a time, which means my little finger is hanging on the side of the mouse and doing something that causes it so much pain that I have trouble bending it.  All right, yes, it is most likely arthritis developing, but it's definitely aggravated by the mouse action.  I've found that using my middle (bird-flipping!) finger instead of my index finger as the clicking finger, my ring finger as the scroll finger, and the little finger laying on top of the mouse as the right click finger, eases it some.  It's not that hard to do, just a little hard to remember.

Still ignoring Duotrope.  I do look at my sub tracking page that tells me how many days out I am.  Two stories are in red, and two more are past the "normal" reported times -- the times I've seen reported on RA log for instance.  And then there's the WotF which should be due any day -- yeah, I'm holding my breath on that one.  But I've made 2 other subs just the last two days, which brings me up to EIGHT subs out.  I'd like to have ten at once, I don't think I've ever had that many out, but I need to get busy, because I'm sure to be hearing from those four subs anyday and then WotF next week or so, which means I'll be down to 3.  Yes yes, turn them around.  Seems to be a philosophy I can't quite get behind.  I keep wanting to go back and revise after each rejection.  Which is bad, I know.  But sometimes I think it can be good, especially if a story garners a personal rejection with a "reason."  And sometimes, when a story has 6 or 7 rejections, well, there's something wrong with it somewhere!

Ok, I'll shut up now.  I meant to only post a couple lines here.
