Musing Aloud

A weekend at home ensues.  My house is a mess and must be vacuumed.   I can no longer vacuum during the week because the grandbaby is terrified of the vacuum.  This, after the many many times I purposely vacuumed with him in his sling when he was 4 months or so, and he always fell asleep, so I thought it must soothe his somehow.  Now I'm wondering if he was so terrified he just passed out?  he never cried though, just seemed fascinated by it.  What *does* go on in infant brains, I wonder?

We're putting in the garden today.  Yay!  Tomatoes and okra.  And one bell pepper.  Maybe two.  There's nothing like fresh tomatoes.  I can't bring myself to eat a store-bought one anymore.  And okra--breaded and fried.  My dad was from Texas, and I really inherited the love for that dish.  Mmmmm. 

And I have a few and various sundry annuals and perennials to plant.  And we're having a plant exchange in May so I need to dig up all the little volunteer seedlings growing in my yard and pot them.  Then tomorrow I'm going to my son's to plant a few things that I dug up last winter from my yard. 

Oh yeah, and tonight we keep the grandbaby all night.  So far everytime he's spent the night he's slept the night through.  Hope tonight is no exception.  But he's teething again.
